Privacy Policy — India Calc

This policy explains how India Calc ("we", "us", "the site", at https://indiacalc.work) handles information when you visit. It covers our own practices and, as far as we can describe them, those of the third parties whose code runs on our pages. By using the site you accept the practices set out below.

The short version. We have no accounts, no logins and no forms. The numbers you type into a calculator never leave your browser. What data is collected comes from third-party advertising, analytics and hosting infrastructure, and you can opt out of the advertising part using the links below.

1. Calculator inputs never leave your browser

Every calculator on this site is plain JavaScript that runs on your own device. Your salary, loan amount, interest rate, investment figure, invoice value or date of birth is read by the page, used to compute a result, and displayed back to you. It is not transmitted to our servers, not written to a database, not logged, and not shared with any advertiser or analytics provider. Closing the tab discards it. We could not retrieve what you entered even if we were asked to, because we never received it.

2. Information collected automatically

Like any website, ours is served over the internet, so certain technical data is unavoidably visible to the systems involved:

Hosting and network logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and served through Cloudflare's network. Cloudflare processes standard request data — IP address, timestamp, requested URL, HTTP status, referring page, user-agent string and approximate location derived from the IP address — for delivery, caching, security and abuse prevention, including protection against denial-of-service attacks. This processing is governed by Cloudflare's own privacy policy. We do not maintain our own separate server access logs.
Device and browser characteristics reported by your browser to any site it visits, such as screen size, language and operating system.

We do not ask for and do not knowingly collect your name, email address, phone number, PAN, Aadhaar number, bank details or any other directly identifying information, because there is nowhere on the site to submit them. If you email us voluntarily, we hold that message and reply to it, and we use it for nothing else.

3. Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies are small files that a site or its partners store on your device. We set no cookies of our own for personalisation or tracking. Cookies you may encounter here are set by third parties, principally for advertising and analytics, and are described in the two sections that follow. You can view, block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings, and most browsers offer a private or incognito mode that discards them when you close the window. Blocking cookies will not stop any calculator on this site from working.

4. Advertising and Google AdSense

This site is funded by display advertising. We use Google AdSense, and Google is a third-party vendor that serves ads on our pages.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites.
Google's use of advertising cookies — including the DoubleClick DART cookie — enables Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and other sites on the internet.
You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings (https://www.google.com/settings/ads). Opting out does not remove ads; it makes them less relevant to you.
You can opt out of a wider list of third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info/choices and optout.networkadvertising.org.
Advertisers do not receive the values you type into our calculators. Ad selection is based on the page's content and on whatever profile the ad network already holds about your browser, not on your inputs.

5. Google Tag Manager and Analytics

We load Google Tag Manager, a container that manages the measurement scripts on the site. Through it we may run Google Analytics to understand aggregate usage — which pages are read, roughly where visitors come from, which devices they use, and where people leave. This tells us which calculators to improve; it is not used to build a profile of you as an individual, and we never attempt to link analytics data to a real-world identity. Google Analytics sets its own cookies and may process your IP address, subject to Google's privacy policy and its own data retention settings. Blocking analytics scripts with a browser extension or privacy setting does not affect the site's functionality.

6. Children's privacy

India Calc is written for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and there is no mechanism on the site through which a child could submit any. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Your rights and choices

Because we hold no accounts and store no inputs, there is generally no personal data of yours in our possession to access, correct or erase. Where data protection law gives you rights — including the EU and UK General Data Protection Regulation, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act — the following summarises how they apply here:

Access and portability. You may ask what we hold about you. In practice this will be limited to any email correspondence you initiated.
Correction and erasure. You may ask us to correct or delete such correspondence.
Objection and restriction. You may object to processing. For advertising and analytics, the practical route is the opt-out links in sections 4 and 5, or a browser-level block.
No sale of personal information. We do not sell or share personal information for money, and we do not operate a "sale" of personal data as defined under CCPA. We do not discriminate against anyone for exercising a privacy right.
Third-party data. Data held by Google or Cloudflare is controlled by them. Requests about that data are usually best directed to them, though we will help where we can.

To exercise any of these, email us at the address in section 10. We will respond within a reasonable period and, where the law sets one, within the statutory time limit.

8. External links

Our guides link to official sources such as the Income Tax Department, CBIC, the GST portal and the Reserve Bank of India, and occasionally to news reports. Those sites have their own privacy policies and their own cookies. We are not responsible for how they handle your data, and following a link takes you outside the scope of this policy.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes or as the law does. Any revision appears on this page with a new effective date at the top. Material changes — a new category of data collection, for instance — will be described rather than slipped in silently. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised policy.

10. Contact

Questions, requests or complaints about this policy go to [email protected], or via our contact page. Please do not include your PAN, Aadhaar number, bank details or any other sensitive identifier in your message; we do not need them and will delete anything that arrives with them.
